Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger Hunt

Hunting for nature’s treasure!

All ages

Scavenger hunts were always one of my favourite things to do when I was little. All you need is a list, a bucket or a bag and away you go!

This time we were looking for:

  • 3 different leaves
  • 1 stick
  • 1 rock
  • 1 feather
  • 1 flower
  • something red
  • a pinecone, conker or acorn
  • something smooth
  • something rough
  • something straight
  • something wonky

We found everything on the list although some ended up being a little too big for our bucket!

One of the reasons I love scavenger hunts is the variety. There are so many different things you can look for and themes you can choose. By doing these hunts you are encouraging observation skills and team work. Scavenger hunts are one of those lovely activities that all ages can join in with – it really is a family activity!

Here are some ideas for different scavenger hunts:texture-huntwhat-can-you-see

Top tips:

  1. If you don’t want to collect items then take a pen and you can tick the items off instead! Still just as much fun.
  2. Why not make a piece of art out of what you find? You could do a collage, a sculpture or a memory stick!
